and the canning continues...

This year we have had very little of our own fruit, and so I have had to diversify a bit.  Here's what I have made this year that's new:

Mint jelly - I had to make it because we sell lamb and it is such a great accompaniment!  But I had no idea how good it was on toast.  If you can, make your own, it is way better than the store bought stuff.  And it makes the kitchen smell absolutely fabulous!  I picked my own mint, it was one of the only things that the sheep didn't eat this year...

Sauerkraut - I had no idea how easy and cheap it is to make this stuff!  Ingredients - salt and cabbage.  And a few friends that don't have carpal tunnel syndrome are also nice to have around.
